What we mean by the stack
The stack is everything above the roofline — brickwork, pots, flaunching and cap — and it's a self-contained structure that needs to stay both watertight and structurally sound independently of the roof it passes through.
Warning signs
A visible lean, cracks running through several courses of brick, or debris appearing in the fireplace below are all signs the stack needs attention rather than being left for the next scheduled inspection.
Why height matters here
Stack repairs mean working at the highest, most exposed point of the property, so proper access equipment and an experienced team matter as much as the repair itself.
