If the brickwork itself is soft, cracked, or the stack has developed a visible lean, repointing alone won't solve the underlying structural issue — the affected section needs taking down and rebuilding properly.
Partial vs full rebuilds
Most rebuilds we carry out in Bristol are partial, taking down and reconstructing the top few courses where weather damage is concentrated, rather than the whole stack from roofline up.
